Computer vision-based Traffic Intersection Management
Overview
Traffic safety is one of the major transportation concerns in India. As per reports, a significant amount of high severity and fatal accidents occur at road intersections and junctions. Collection and analysis of traffic behavioural patterns at intersections are very crucial for improving safety. As an outcome, continuous monitoring of road intersections has gained much importance for addressing such complex traffic management problems. We are trying to address the pertinent challenges of intersection monitoring with the help of emergent computer vision-based techniques
The main objective is to develop a camera-based traffic intersection monitoring system with an outlook to improve safety aspects for Indian road traffic environments.
